Erosion Control Overview

The removal of soil by the action of water, through rain, rivers and lakes is a difficult problem to solve.  Hoofmark (UK) Ltd have selected two solutions to these problems which can be applied to most of the engineering problems associated with erosion control and provide real economical and environmental benefits.   Partial Vegetation

The three-dimensional systems confine the infill material to resist anticipated hydraulic flows, inhibit erosion and minimize the downward migration of embankment materials.

Deltalok® can be used as an effective erosion control system and is particularly suitable in the following situations:

  • Steep (greater than 45°) embankments

  • Where water meets land
  Early Vegetation

Hoofmark (UK) Ltd Geoweb:

  • Embankments less than 45°

  • Economical solution to large areas of embankment above water level
  Geoweb Embankment

Both Deltalok® and Hoofmark (UK) Ltd Geoweb are suitable for supporting natural vegetation and benefit from development of root systems to increase the stability of the slope, further adding to resistance to erosion  control and stability of the underlying soil.
