D-Raintank® Stormwater Control System from Hoofmark (UK) Ltd

D-Raintank

D-Raintank is a stormwater storage system that is strong enough to bear loads from HGV traffic yet capable of stormwater control and preventing flash floods. D-Raintank can be installed as a storm water soakaway (reinfiltration) system, or, with attenuation crates as a storage (attenuation) system, leading to an installed pipework drainage system for storm water management.

For more details of typical installation configurations of D-Raintank, see the D-Raintank Details page.

D-Raintank is manufactured from recyclable virgin High Density Polypropylene (HDPP) to achieve structural accuracy.

Each D-Raintank unit is 840mm x 810mm x 400mm, and can be joined together to provide storm water soakaways that are sized to meet your storm water management needs.

Perimeter D-Raintank units clip together in all directions using proprietary clips into the designated configuration. Water can traverse freely in all directions within the complete D-Raintank installation for sustainable urban drainage.

Soakaway (Reinfiltration) Installation Using D-Raintank for Stormwater Control

When in place, the D-Raintank assembly is encapsulated in 150gsm Polypropylene (PP) needle punched, uv stable, non-woven Geotextile or similar, jointed by continuously glued 200mm overlap to provide effective storm water control.

Care is needed to prevent entry of silt/solids around entry/exit pipes of the storm water soakaway. The assembly is surrounded by an appropriate granular material, allowing movement of water through (in or out) all sides, top and bottom, expediting the return of the water content to the water table for sustainable urban drainage.

Stormwater Attenuation (Storage) System Using D-Raintank

To make D-Raintank into a stormwater attenuation system, the attenuation crates assembly is encapsulated in High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) impermeable membrane or other membrane designated for site specific reasons. It is sealed in accordance with manufacturers' instructions to provide a vapour-proof envelope giving a stormwater storage system for sustainable urban drainage.

Care should be exercised to prevent damage to the membrane during installation and backfilling. Provision should also be made for the release of air as water enters the attenuation crates forming the stormwater storage system.

Membranes for D-Raintank Stormwater Storage System Installation

Hoofmark have authorised contractors able to supply and install impermeable membranes for stormwater management systems. Alternatively membranes can be supplied ‘made to measure’ including seals, sleeves, etc for the contracted storm water control groundworker to install.
