INNOLET®-G now also suitable for street drains with wet sludge traps

INNOLET® has been a huge success for years with many municipalities in Germany for use in street drains. The system purifies precipitation outflows in a decentralized arrangement, even before the water passes into the rainwater sewer or into bodies of surface water.

Funke Kunststoffe GmbH has now developed a further variant. This means that INNOLET® can be used not only with conventional street drains, but also with drains equipped with wet sludge traps. 

The principle is simple:

The precipitation water with its burden of solids flows into the street drain equipped with INNOLET®-G. The distribution cone ensures that the water flows past the insert element, and collects on the floor of the street drain. As the water level rises, the precipitation water then flows through the filter cartridge filled with substrate. This is where the heavy metals, oils, and organic substrates are adsorbed which are carried along dissolved in the surface water flow, and the water which is cleansed in this way can then pass via the run-off and into the main drain pipe.

When it comes to cleaning the wet dirt trap, the distribution cone and the filter cartridge of the INNOLET®-G system are taken out, and a suction probe can then be introduced into the drain.
